In fact, it was working JUST FINE! Then you take it upon yourselves to turn it into crippleware.ĭon't need a subscription, don't need updates. IT JUST NEEDS TO WORK!!! This is totally unacceptable for software that we've bought and paid for. I understand end of life, but running on an older machine it doesn't need updating.

Very bad business, very bad indeed.Īs far as getting it to work again ( renew subscription) like everyone else here, it goes back to the download/install link, and even AFTER it says it's installed. And OF COURSE they just got me 2 weeks ago for a 360 renewal. Why today mine decided not to work is beyond me.
(Albeit late to the party it seems.) I've seen the threads where people have been complaining about it for a year or more now. Utilities Premium ( or whatever they're wanting to call it these days), even if it WERE part of the free promotion with 360, had an expiration date 2050. I started using Norton Desktop with Windows 3.0, and have used various incarnations of "Utilities" for over 35 years! I'm not talking about the "free" version, but paid versions that NEVER had expiration dates. Myself, like I'm sure tens of thousands of, have been a customer of Norton/Symantec for over half our lives.
What exactly is the Symantec line on LOCKING OUT owners of various Norton Utilities?
